After the amazing response I received from StickWorld v1 (which I am very thankful for) I started to think what I should do next. I now had a following, so submitting something below the high standard I started off with would damage my new found reputation. Hence I was not going to submit this. Nevertheless, seeing as I had my intended next piece of work, StickWorld v2 won't be ready for an age, I thought I would submit this to give you a feel for what is coming around the corner.
I made this new city for one of my a-level art projects. I was exploring the quote "Education has made a society able to read, but unable to distinguish what is worth reading." Or something equivalent to that. So I set off sourcing ideas, the first and primary idea was for an information overload. I remember reading the comments for StickWorld v1 and seeing how amazed everyone was at the size and detail captured from my imagination. So something similar to that would provide a purely visual information overload. The comments for StickWorld v1 also praised the transparency of some of the buildings, so I took this into account and created a few new buildings and improved an old one.
I also used some new techniques I have learnt through experimentation to successfully implement curved objects into the isometric space. Everything in this piece seems one more step further away from the rigid unnatural angles portrayed in StickWorld v1. Together with my better understanding of creating completely transparent objects and morphing normal images into the isometric world helped me try and improve on my previous work.
I looked at the deadline and thought about the size of the image I was about to undertake. It then occurred to me, why don't I make this city loop-able, kind of like a jigsaw puzzle. This way I could make this image as large as I wanted, while removing the problems involved with resizing pixel art. So this is the result.
I have delayed submitting it because I don't feel that it improves on StickWorld v1 to the degree I want it to. There is nothing relatively new, I mean look, and I’ve already reused a building from the old StickWorld. As I didn't feel this met the requirements for a new StickWorld, I gave it the version number 1.5. New, but not quite there. While I like the detailed non-flat shaded walls and copious alpha-blending with the great scalability I have managed to achieve, I can't quite give this the full support I would give StickWorld v2. Could make a nice wallpaper though, which is why I submitted it.
Expect StickWorld v2 soon...

oh my freaking god. it looks so much better in full view. so much. its interesting to see the different shapes in this, some of them softer and round and square and hard. it's just good. the repetition is yummy also, nice ideas. i definitely look forward to Stickworldv2.
Omg dude. Why so not many comments? This is a great piece of work. I can tell you took a long time on it and you deserve props man, GJ! Very large also, only thing is it just repeats a lot, which is still cool.
